Today, the expectations upon you as an Executive Assistant are much greater than they have ever been. With the increasing scope of your role, it has never been more critical for you to build your Personal Leadership skills.
Each day you deal with increasing workload and resource constraints, strive to improve productivity, build winning teams with co-workers and management and maximise your own value to the organisation. Apart from the regular duties, you often have to work with difficult people, resolve conflict, delegate, take charge and meet the expectations' multiple bosses’.
This workshop is designed to help you take charge without the benefit of authority, embrace wider responsibility, and succeed in an increasingly complex role. Emphasising introspection and personal discovery this program enables you to fulfil and expand your emerging leadership potential.
Participants return to their organisation with a better understanding of their leadership strengths, improved personal management skills, and a broader outlook on business issues. Organisations benefit by deepening their talent pool and capitalising on the benefits of developing cross-functional responsibility within the Executive Assistant role.
Executive Assistant High Performance Masterclass provides training in Self Leadership, Relationship Management, Communication for Influence and Advantage, Coaching and Motivating Others and Strategic Thinking
SESSION ONE | THE GREATEST SOURCE OF LEADERSHIP
(9:00 am - 11:00 am, including a working Morning Tea)
“There is a person with whom you spend more time than any other, a person who has more influence over you, and more ability to interfere with or to support your growth than anyone else. This ever present companion is you own self.” - Dr Pamela Butler
You recognise the value of leadership in helping you and the business achieving it’s goals - you know the value of a leader in creating engagement and motivation - but do you recognise how your self leadership impacts you in the same way. Our greatest source of leadership and influence comes not from an external leader, but from within ourselves.
In this highly interactive workshop, delegates will learn how to recognise and remove the 3 key mental barriers to high performance and success. Delegates will be provided the tools to keep the learning real, practical and relevant for the long term in both a personal and professional context.
This session will leave participants motivated and inspired to make a positive change in their lives and to help open their eyes and minds to possibilities and opportunities that may have been hiding until now.
SESSION TWO | ENABLING SUCCESS
(11:00 am - 1:00 pm)
"Leadership defines what the future should look like, aligns people with that vision, and inspires them to make it happen despite the obstacles” - John Kotter
When you think of great leaders, be they from the pages of history or perhaps someone you have had the fortune to work with, what is it that sets them apart from others?
In many cases the leader has the ability to create an environment in which their teams can succeed. Whether you're in a relationship with a Direct Report or a co-worker in the broader business, your ability to create a positive and motivating environment will help you achieve your goals and those of the overall business.
Everyone within your business has a direct impact on those around them, understanding this and how you can influence others in a positive way is a powerful tool for anyone, independent of your function.
In this session you will develop a deeper understanding of how you, in the role of Executive Assistant, can become a powerful motivator of others.
Key features of this session include:
How to build great relationships for influence and advantage
How to determine key motivators of others, and use these to improve their performance
How you can use the key coaching principles to enable others to succeed
(1:00pm - 2:00pm)
SESSION THREE | BECOMING STRATEGIC
(2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, including a Afternoon Tea)
“Strategic thinking is the bridge that links where you are, to where you want to be” - John Maxwell
Being in between your Executive or Senior Manager, and their broader team, you have an opportunity to play an important role in the successful operation of the organisation.
Strategic thinking focuses on finding and developing unique opportunities to create value by enabling proactive and creative dialogue among people who can affect a company’s direction.
It is true that an EA must be responsive to the day-to-day issues that face them. However, an EA can add considerable value to their work by looking outside the box and being prepared to suggest creative ways to shape and improve the work place and it’s practices.
Strategic thinkers learn to analyse their surroundings for potential opportunities and challenges faced by their work teams and organisations.
Key features of this session include:
What is Strategic Thinking
Taking your thinking to the next level
Using Strategic Thinking to get ahead in your organisation
